By Laura Schwander KEZI TV    Lane County Government officials say it receives only nine cents out of everydollar paid in property tax.  Now with a click of a mouse, you can find out how that and other taxpayer money is put to use in Lane County.

In order to meet the reporting requirements of Oregon Revised Statute 294.250, Lane County Government is required to make its expenditures and revenues over $100 available to the public.

The county already provides this information, but now it wants to make it easier for the public to access it by posting it online.  The Lane County Transparency Spending and Revenue Receipt Reports will be available each month on the county's website. Each entry will include who was paid, the type of expense, and what program or project

initiated the expense.

"The more transparency we provide, the higher level of trust and comfort the citizens will have with our decision making," said Lane County Commissioner and Board Chair Bill Fleenor.

Lane County Government Officials say the Transparency Spending & Revenue Receipt Reports make it possible for people to view actual expenditures as they occur closer to 'real time' as well as provide more individual account detail.
